Assimilation

Culture overtime can be degraded through misrepresentation, assimilation, and prejudices from the dominant culture in the community. People that are misrepresented tend to lose routines that are special to their culture over time, due to being seen as less for being classified as the minority from the dominant individuals. Cultures that a seen as minorities tend to submit to learning norms and rules of the dominant culture in order to conform. If a culture has a different kind of religion, they would be required to learn a dominant religion after they’ve migrated. The culture would become minorities after migration and try their best to remember their traditions in tangent with assimilation. People that have the most privilege in a society tend to adopt racial stereotypes and prejudices against the culture seen as minorities. These racist views degrade the image of the minorities and grows misconception of their culture.
